Alternatives to Surgical Scar Removal

Scars can also be treated using scar care gels or scar creams. This type of treatment can help treat minor scars or new scars better than old scars. They can also be used after a person has undergone surgery to help promote scar less healing.

Good scar gels and creams contain ingredient that work by breaking down scars and promoting the growth of new skin cells. For example, snail serum is a gentle natural ingredient that is known to help dissolve scar tissue. It also helps promotes the production of healthy cells and increases the production of collagen and elastin fibers.

Stay away from products that contain collagen because they won't help repair scar tissue. As a matter of fact, collagen molecules are too large and can't penetrate our skin pores which means that the product cannot reach the site of the scar to repair it.

Laser treatment is another viable alternative. However, it is not always the right choice for your type of scar tissue. So, before undergoing this type of treatment consult with a dermatologist to see if you are eligible for laser treatment.
