Scar Less Healing

Natural Scar Healing

When people are asked if they have any questions regarding surgery they are about to undergo, one of the most frequently asked questions is, “will it leave a scar?” Whilst a number of years ago, the answer to this question would virtually always be a categorical “yes”, since the introduction and increased use of keyhole surgery, today it may well be that your operation will leave no trace of a scar whatsoever or it will be so minimal that you can barely see it, let alone be affected by it.

Keyhole surgery, also known as ‘minimally invasive surgery’, has sometimes been referred to as the greatest surgical advancement since anaesthetic. It came about as information technology made tiny cameras which could be inserted into the body and made it possible to work inside the body alongside computers.

There are many different types of conventional surgical procedure which can now be performed using keyhole surgery and the benefits to the patient are quite significant. These include less pain, minimal scarring, quicker recovery post operation and a faster resumption of normal everyday activities.

What Does Keyhole Surgery Entail?

Depending upon the area of the body where keyhole surgery is being performed, about 3 or 4 tiny incisions (sometimes even fewer), usually only around 10mm each, are made into which a special channel or tube is inserted. This is known as a ‘port’ and via this port, a special viewing instrument called an endoscope is passed through.

This will have a powerful light source on the end of it and will work like a telescopic camera projecting images from inside the body onto a TV monitor which the surgeon can look at so that he can see exactly what the problem is and what needs to be fixed. In addition to the camera, the surgeon can also pass one or a series of specialised, miniature surgical instruments through either the same port or a different port (which would require a further incision(s) depending upon the procedure which is being carried out.

The technology means that the surgeon can operate the equipment from outside of the body whilst looking at the monitor. Endoscopes vary in size and design depending upon the area of the body which is being operated on. Some are rigid and others more flexible and you may be familiar with the term ‘laparoscopy’. This originates from ‘laparoscope’ which is the specialised tool used to perform keyhole surgery within the abdominal area.

What Procedures Can Be Performed Using Keyhole Surgery?

As the technology becomes even more sophisticated, it has been adopted as the recognised procedure for a whole range of surgery which would have previously required you to be opened up with a traditional scalpel. This includes but is not limited to:

After The Operation

The extent of the surgery will determine how soon you will be able to go home after the operation. However as an example, where cruciate ligament replacement surgery would previously have meant you’d remain in hospital for a week or even longer, with keyhole surgery it is normal to go home after an overnight stay or after 2 days at the most. Scarring is minimal and any open wound should heal very quickly.

Recovery

As this is a general article encompassing the whole keyhole surgery spectrum, it’s not appropriate to second guess how long it would be before you could go back to work and resume all of your normal activities. Suffice to say, however, that any keyhole procedure will enable you to recover more quickly than any traditional method of surgery which would have been used previously.

Open Surgery

If you require open surgery, then it’s almost inevitable that you will be left with some kind of a scar although a surgeon will always try to keep this as minimal as possible. Even advancements in the way in which open incisions can be closed these days has also become more technically advanced with, for example, the use of dissolvable stitches which can reduce the visibility and improve the appearance of a scar.

Nevertheless, if you are in need of having open surgery, then it’s important that you realise that you’re probably going to be left with some kind of scar as a result. Naturally, this can be distressing to some people, particularly so, if the operation is on an area which is always more visible to others and can’t be concealed by clothing - your face for example.

However, your surgeon will be able to answer any questions you might have relating to scarring prior to your operation. They will also be able to explain why keyhole surgery, if available for your procedure, might not be possible in your own case or may not be the best option for your own individual surgery and they’ll even be able to show you pictures or photographs of what your scar might typically look like following your surgery.

Scarring as a Natural Result of The Healing Process

The fact is that a scar is the natural result of the healing process of a particular wound or incision. This can be demonstrated by considering other injuries or wounds you may have suffered in the past which have not required any kind of surgery, many of which will have left some kind of scar as a result of your body’s natural healing process when it comes to an open wound, even if the scar is not that particularly noticeable.

It’s also the case that even with a surgical scar from a specific procedure, they won’t all necessarily look the same. They form differently depending upon both the exact location of the injury or incision and the age of the person affected or undergoing the surgery.

Scar Treatments

There are certain types of cosmetic and other kinds of treatment you can undergo to reduce the visibility of a scar or to make it appear less obvious. Not all treatments can be used to treat every type of scar damage however but treatments include:

However, it’s important to consider any of these treatments very thoroughly and seek expert opinions and even second opinions before opting for a particular treatment as it may make the appearance of the scar even worse and cause other complications and it’s also true that not all scar removal treatment claims have yet to be scientifically proven and the reality is that it’s impossible to actually physically completely remove a scar.

Yes, in certain instances, some treatments will dramatically improve the appearance of a scar and make it less noticeable but you should be under no illusion that a scar can ever be completely removed to leave the skin totally unblemished and to seek sound advice first.

Your Own Positive Attitude to Scarring Will Help

And remember, although some people are psychologically affected by being scarred, many people adopt an attitude of becoming quite proud of their scar as proof of overcoming a particular surgical procedure or recovering from an injury and it often empowers them and they get quite attached to their scar as marking them out as representation of their own unique individuality.

It’s probably this healthy attitude to any scars you may incur that is far better than having some risky and unproven scar treatment that will help you overcome any negativity towards scarring which, after all, is a natural part of the body’s healing process.

Enzyme Dissolution of Scars with a Natural Scar Healing Cream

BIOSKINCARE CREAM brings you the ONLY skin renewal product that incorporates natural skin renewal activators and biological enzymes that gently dissolve or "digest" by hydrolysis the damaged or worn out protein fibers of the skin while and at the same time triggers the proliferation of fibroblasts that give rise to new connective tissues and hydrating molecules within the skin: new collagen and elastin cells and glycosaminoglycans and proteoglycans. The result is a coordinated biological regulation of the skin renewal process and thus scar healing and advanced skin rejuvenation.

Structure of Protein
Proteins are long chains of amino acids linked by peptide bonds. During hydrolysis these peptide bonds are broken into shorter parts --peptides, polypeptides and amino acids.

Enzymatic Hydrolyzate
Enzymatic hydrolysis is achieved by proteases present in the in the biological compound we collect from live snails (collagenase and gellatinase enzymes that modify (breakdown) proteins. Enzymatic hydrolysis increases the number of molecules in solution by splitting proteins into peptides. Upon enzymatic hydrolysis of the peptide bonds in a protein, new amino groups are released - one amino group for each peptide bond broken.

The beauty and genius of nature's most complete and balanced biological skin renewal serum is that it works by creating an equivalent of a NON TRAUMA exfoliation which means that your skin will react to the messanger molecules and the enzymes that recognize and degrade damaged cells and non functional tissues by activating its own biological response modifiers thereby supporting your body's immune system and repair mechanisms to treat skin injuries (cuts, bruises, abrasions, acne lesions, scars, wounds, burns), dysfunctional tissues (keratosis, keloid and hypertrophic scars, excess dryness) and prevent over reactions that further destroy tissues and immune-mediated inflammatory skin disorders (inflammatory acne, rosacea, eczema and most dermatitis reactions).

And it will do so in an environment that has also been provided with all the molecule messengers that are necessary for a) the recognition of those cells and tissues that are damaged and need to be "digested" by the enzymes and b) an orchestrated regeneration or biosynthesis of new healthy tissues and with antioxidants that limit damage from free radical generation from the cells that participate in the immune system and create them to fight invading microbes.

When the enzymes "digest" or dissolve the topmost micron of skin (part of the outer layer that is no thicker than a sheet of paper, slowly and over a period of time) unlike all other such methods as glycolic acid peels, dermabrasion or laser resurfacing, there is no heat and blistering, so there is nothing to heal.

When you burn your skin, your body creates healing protein like collagen and elastin bands, pus, melanin, water, and antibodies (inflamm-aging) that rush to the aid of the trauma. In that case, there actually IS a burn to tend to...

However, during your BIOSKINCARE™ treatment, there is NOT any burn or trauma repair. The proteins that transport the repair elements to the epidermis and underlying stratum corneum are flooded with your own molecules and DNA. The new skin growth that is waiting to be exposed is not only smoother and tighter on its own, but it has just been soaked with those reparative proteins and water holding molecules that hydrated your skin and flooded to the surface to come to the aid of the 'NON TRAUMA EXFOLIATION'.

For hard, rough and old scars clinical trials have shown that the best results from chemical, physical exfoliation or laser treatments is achieved when the treatment is combined with SKIN REGENERATING ACTIVATORS. The reason is after the skin has been damaged by exfoliators it is IMPERATIVE that skin healing progresses at a quick pace.

Acne scar healing is a highly ordered systemic process that involves the coordinated regulation of cell proliferation and migration, and tissue remodeling .

Skin Exfoliation usually only involves removal of dead skin cells. BIOSKINCARE™ is unlike any other exfoliation treatment available today because BIOSKINCARE™ is the only system that gently exfoliates with ENZYMES & NATURAL SKIN RENEWAL ACTIVATORS that signal your system to get rid of damaged skin cells and target the cells that play the biggest role in keeping skin young, the fibroblasts, which are deep down in the mesoderm (middle layer) and stimulate them to reproduce all the structural components of healthy skin. And the whole process is coordinated at the pace needed to restore a healthy and beautiful skin naturally.

The Skin Renewal Activators are natural skin regenerating peptides and glycomolecules that signal your body to accelerate skin renewal . The same molecules are found in healthy human skin when it is wounded. They coordinate and regulate cell proliferation and migration and tissue remodeling. But as we age these regulatory growth factors slow down their activity and it is necessary to supply them topically to achieve the same skin renewal achieved by youngsters.

Reaching the fibroblasts

The point is enzymes help the peptides and glyco messengers to reach the fibroblasts. Skin is not fragile but admirably tough, more a barrier than a membrane. That's why the outer (and toughest) layer, the stratum corneum, is also called the horny layer. It's about ten microns thick -a lot in the dermatology world-and consists of layers of the same dead cells (corneocytes) that compose fingernails. The horny layer is often compared to a brick-and-mortar construction: The large cells of the epidermis are packed tightly together, while the small spaces between them are filled with fats (lipids). The design is foolproof: The corneocytes keep foreign material out, and the lipids make sure water stays in. The second layer (the epidermis) is about 80µm micrometres or microns thick. The third layer (the dermis) contains the capillaries and nerve endings and is several millimeters thick.

A micrometre is one-millionth of a metre - one-thousandth of a millimetre. One micron is about a tenth of the diameter of a droplet of mist or fog. It can be written in scientific notation as 1×10−6 m, meaning 1 / 1,000,000 m.

Yet it's on this hard ground that most products are meant to work. Most skin-care products focus on moisturizing the 'dead' layer of the skin, the 10 microns or so that require water so they don't feel dry, but that is not enough and in most cases it is deleterious for it ends wetting the skin too much.

The combination of tough stratum corneum layer and live epidermis makes it extremely difficult for external substances to penetrate skin. Traditionally, only small water-soluble molecules are able to diffuse slowly into the skin. Physical exfoliation of 10 or so microns, specially of rough scar tissues helps active ingredients to penetrate more easily the outer layer of the skin into the epidermis and the basal layer, while they also polish the surface and make it softer and look and feel more even. If scars are new and damage to skin is minor, or for routine exfoliation the action of the enzymes in BIOSKINCARE is best.
